This Blow Off Valve (BOV) – also known as a dump valve – from Forge Motorsport is specially designed for the 1.0 TSI and TFSI engines from the VW-Audi Group. It fits, among others, the VW Up! GTI, Audi A1 8X, A3 8V, VW Golf 7, Polo AW, and Seat Ibiza 6P 1.0 TSI.
These engines are not originally equipped with a Diverter Valve in any form. This causes turbo overpressure every time you release the throttle while building turbo boost.
With this ready-to-install BOV from Forge Motorsport, you can easily install a blow off valve without needing modifications in the engine bay. These engines are not equipped with a mass air flow sensor, so this BOV also does not cause any issues with the fuel mixture.
This Forge Motorsport blow off valve is a valve with 2 pistons. This valve produces a very sporty blow-off sound when you release the throttle or relieve the turbo. Not only is this sound a sporty addition, but there are also performance benefits. You get faster throttle response because there will be less turbo lag. The turbo can spool up faster when you apply throttle again after releasing it.
The blow off valve is designed in such a way that it helps the turbo maintain the compressor wheel speed as high as possible. This also reduces resistance caused by backpressure, which makes the turbo less prone to damage. When tuning a 1.0 TSI engine and not installing a blow off valve, the backpressure can increase, potentially damaging the turbo’s compressor wheel. Installing this blow off valve prevents that.
The standard plastic hose is also replaced with a high-quality silicone hose. This hose is pressure- and heat-resistant and provides a visual upgrade under the hood.
