This is a VWR R600 Replacement Intake Air Filter that fits the RacingLine R600 intake only.

TRIFOAM® FILTER UNIT
Oversized domed high-flow TriFoam™ air filter designed to provide increased surface area and dust capacity. This extra surface area provides even more airflow with a lower restriction, ensuring the engine has the coolest possible amount of air at all times. With a filter rated up to 600hp, this provides a large area for any future upgrades you may have planned, and ensures that the intake system operates comfortably within its capacity at all times. This maximises efficiency and improves drivability and torque throughout the rev range - reducing turbocharger spool revolutions by almost 500 rpm, reducing turbo lag and providing a faster turbo response. As a high-performance component, regular maintenance is essential to keep the turbocharger at its best.

WHY IS THE FILTER IN MY R600 SO IMPORTANT?
Your engine needs huge amounts of clean, fresh air to deliver the kind of power the 2.0 TSI is capable of. But keeping dirt out of its precise and vital internals is crucial.

Imagine driving thousands of kilometres without a filter. The performance would be great, but tiny dirt particles cause engine wear leading to loss of performance, efficiency and eventually engine failure. Think of sandpaper dragging over every small part of your engine and eventually wearing out things like piston rings, valve seats and bearings, losing power and efficiency. Nobody wants that!

So, to kick in an open door, a filter should filter dirt out of the air, but still allow enough air to flow into the engine. This is why the filter is so important. It is the heart of your R600.
