To produce the TTE480+ upgrade turbocharger, TTE uses a specially milled compressor wheel made of very strong aluminium and very thin blades. Not only is it larger than the standard part, it also features extended tip technology. As a result, it promotes significantly more air mass and still responds very early. The standard compressor housing has been machined with a CNC milling machine to fit the new wheel.
TTE's proven ‘9-Blade’ turbine wheel is used here, which stands for early response, low exhaust back pressure and high flow.
The TTE axial bearing used ensures higher load capacity. The standard pressure cell of the wastegate has been adapted to the new environmental conditions by equipping it with a stronger spring. With the TTE brackets, the spring rate can be adjusted even further by the owner if desired or necessary.
Balancing
The high-precision balance of each TTE turbocharger is a key element for its service life, noise and operation, which is why TTE attaches great importance to this process. Each individual component is initially balanced in different levels up to 2800 rpm. The core group is then assembled and dynamically balanced, again at different levels up to 250,000 rpm. At TTE, this process takes place on a Vibration Sorting Rig (VSR) balancing machine. Each turbocharger is accompanied by a balancing protocol, which you can clearly assign to your TTE loader using the serial number and which allows you to find out at any time what values your turbocharger left the factory with.
