TTE535 hybrid performance upgrade turbocharger based on the Original IS38 turbocharger for the 3rd generation VAG 2.0TSI, building on our TTE525R upgrade stage. Stage 3+ power, with great spool and response. We think this is the best balanced performing hybrid IS38 available.
Engineered & Improved EA888 Gen 3 - IS38
To construct a TTE535, we change the original compressor and use a much larger and more efficient billet wheel with extended tip technology and mill the compressor cover to the optimum clearance to match the new compressor profile. We replace the original IS38 turbine and CNC mill the turbine housing to install a larger lightweight 9-blade turbine for increased gas flow. We also replace the original thrust bearing for TTE upgrade 360 degree made in-house.
We also fit our TTE CNC silencer delete. We modify the turbo discharge silencer, remove the original baffle internals and fit a new straight-through section, removing any restriction and its function as a silencing device, thus improving flow and enhancing noise.
The 9-blade TTE turbine is a special turbine designed by TheTurboEngineers. Benefits include increased gas flow, reducing back pressure and lowering exhaust gas temperatures, allowing safer higher boost levels. This turbine is extremely light in mass, providing a quick spool-up for size.
Balance
Precise balancing of our turbochargers is a key critical factor in becoming a TTE upgrade unit, as longevity and performance are of paramount importance. Good balance also improves acoustics. Next, great care is taken on all TTE turbochargers to achieve our balancing standards. First, components are balanced at low speeds up to 2800RPM in multiple planes using our single parts machine, then components are assembled and then the CHRA are dynamically balanced, but this time depending on the application up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our in-house VSR machine to acquire the ultimate balance, to a standard much higher than OEM. Each turbocharger comes with a serial number balanced test result document.
