The TTE777 is an original RS3 8V.2/TTRS 8S turbocharger for the DAZA & DNWA 2.5 TFSI EVO engine that we at THETURBOENGINEERS have converted into a hybrid with industry-leading performance, yet is plug-and-play and fits with an upgrade intake.

The TTE777 hybrid turbocharger was the evolution of our acclaimed TTE700. With several key features including a larger billet compressor and CNC porting and other gas flow improvements.

The compressor wheel was replaced with a milled aluminium wheel with state-of-the-art geometry and 7+7 blades, producing extra power even bigger than the compressor wheel of the TTE700. We have also replaced the original exhaust turbine with a much larger but very lightweight 9-blade TTE turbine, for lower exhaust back pressure, increasing performance. We also fitted a proven TTE motorsport upgrade bearing system for durability.

As always, the boost response was a key consideration when designing this unit and it does not disappoint.

With the TTE777 stage, we CNC ported the exhaust manifold to match the OEM gasket at the head flange and smooth the transition in each exhaust bend to improve throttle velocity and flow, improving the efficiency of the much larger 9-blade, low-mass turbine and driving the larger compressor harder. We also made other power adjustments on the turbine side of the TTE777 to increase gas flow.

When you order new, we use the latest generation of original BorgWarner turbochargers with the latest Audi thermal heat insulation shields on the exhaust manifold and turbine housing to reduce engine bay temperatures and ensure the best performance and safety.

Accurate balancing of our turbochargers is an important critical factor in becoming a TTE upgrade unit, as long life and good performance are of paramount importance. Proper balancing also improves acoustics. Next, all TTE turbochargers are carefully balanced to meet our balancing standards. First, the parts are balanced at low speeds up to 2800 RPM in multiple planes using our single piece machine, then the parts are assembled and then the CHRA is dynamically balanced, but this time depending on the application up to 250,000 RPM in multiple planes using our proprietary VSR machine to achieve the ultimate balance, to a standard much higher than OEM. Each turbocharger comes with a numbered document containing the results of the balance test.
