The difference between the blow off valve and the recirculation valve is that a blow off valve vents atmospheric pressure (to the outside air), while a recirculation valve recirculates the turbo’s excess pressure back towards the turbo. A recirculation valve is quieter than a blow off valve. Both valves serve the same function, which is to release excess pressure. The blow off valve produces the typical ‘Pshhht’ sound. The recirculation valve is slightly louder than the original but not as pronounced as a blow off valve.
