The HF-Series high flow turbo inlet replaces the original turbo inlet after the air filter on the 1.8 and 2.0 EA888.3 TSI / TFSI engines. It can be found in models such as the VW Golf 7 GTI, Golf 7 R, T-Roc, Polo AW, VW Arteon, VW Passat B8, Audi A3 and S3, TT, TTS, Seat Leon 5F, Seat Ateca, and Skoda Octavia 5E. The original turbo inlet of these 1.8 and 2.0 TSI/TFSI E6 engines is designed for environmental performance and to produce as little noise as possible. However, this restricts airflow significantly, causing a lot of resistance in the original inlet. This HF-Series high flow turbo inlet allows up to 50% more air through than the original, resulting in higher performance.
This turbo inlet was developed using 3D simulations and flow measurements. As a result, a diameter of no less than 70mm was chosen for the inlet pipe to the turbo. The turbo inlet is made from high-quality aluminum and features a CNC-machined flange.
By installing this high flow turbo inlet, an optimal and even supply of air to the turbo is achieved. This ultimately leads to higher achievable power and faster turbo spool-up.
