A coil converts the 12 volts from the car battery into a much higher voltage. This increased electrical energy provides a more reliable power source for the spark plug, improving engine performance by igniting the fuel-air mixture more efficiently. We have spent a lot of development time optimizing the coil's energy levels to ensure operating temperature remains controlled. Throughout the lifespan of our coil, this thermal management helps prevent future failures. Replacement is especially worthwhile for older engines still using the original coils. A new set is an excellent preventive maintenance upgrade to avoid misfires caused by aging and gradually failing original coils.

Coil packs that deliver more than 10% more energy than the original pack will overheat and degrade over time. We have increased the energy output to a level that keeps the coils as cool as possible for as long as possible.
