The TTE550 for the N55 engine. The original turbocharger is retained, but the compressor wheel has been replaced with a TTE-machined aluminum wheel featuring advanced geometry and 7+7 blades, delivering additional power. The original exhaust turbine has also been replaced with a much larger yet very lightweight 9-blade turbine. TTE designed this turbine for lower exhaust back pressure, resulting in improved performance and rapid response.

For additional durability, a TTE Motorsport upgraded bearing system has been installed.

Balancing

The precise balancing of our turbochargers is a crucial factor in a TTE upgrade, as durability and performance are of the utmost importance. Proper balancing also improves acoustics. That is why we take the utmost care to meet our balancing standards for all TTE turbochargers. First, the components are balanced at low speeds of up to 2,800 rpm in multiple planes using our single-component balancing machine. The components are then assembled and the CHRA is dynamically balanced, this time, depending on the application, at speeds of up to 250,000 rpm in multiple planes using our own VSR machine to achieve the ultimate balance, according to a standard far higher than that of the OEM. Every turbocharger is supplied with a serial-numbered document showing the balancing test results.

Please note: if you send in a used turbocharger for the upgrade, TTE does not test or refurbish the electronic actuator you send in. Your actuator will be reinstalled.

Turbochargers must be sent in complete with the actuator. Do not send your bypass valve. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO INSTALL A NEW BYPASS VALVE
